Geeta, who returned to India after accidentally crossing over to Pakistan, clears class 8 exams

Geeta, a 33-year-old woman with hearing and speech impairment, who returned to India from Pakistan in 2015, has achieved a remarkable feat by passing her eighth-grade examination with first division honours. She secured special merit in social science and Sanskrit, scoring an impressive 411 out of 600 marks in the exams conducted by the Madhya Pradesh State Open School Education Board. The Indore-based NGO, Anand Service Society, has been instrumental in supporting Geeta's educational endeavours, despite the challenges of teaching her via video calls. NGO members praised Geeta's dedication and hard work, which enabled her to overcome the obstacles and achieve academic success. Geeta now aspires to secure a job with the Madhya Pradesh government and is eager to continue her further studies.
