Details of Supreme Court hearing on migrant labourer case
Supreme Court of India held a virtual hearing over the migrant labour crisis on Thursday. The court instructed that no migrant labourers should be asked to pay the fare for being transported to his or her home state via train. Meanwhile, representing the Centre, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta said that the government is taking steps to end the misery of the migrants. However, he did concede that some unfortunate incidents have taken place.
