Delhi suffers water crisis as Yamuna almost dries up | Ghanti Bajao | 20 May 2022
Concerns and politics over water scarcity have grown as the Yamuna's water levels continue to fall. The Haryana government, according to Delhi Water Minister Satyendar Jain, is to blame for the Yamuna drying up since the Haryana government withheld water. Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, on the other hand, stated that Delhi is receiving 1,050 cusecs of water as part of its share. The Yamuna and the canals that flow into it provide over 70% of Delhi's water supply. The Delhi Jal Board (DJB) has requested an additional 150 cusecs of raw water from Haryana's irrigation department to suit its needs.
