Delhi Shelter Home Turns into Death Trap As 14 Die In A Month, Investigation Ordered | ABP News

A shelter home in Delhi, named Asha Kiran, has turned into a scene of tragedy, with 14 deaths reported in the past month, including among children. This shelter home is intended for individuals with mental health issues. The Delhi government has ordered an investigation into these deaths, with a report expected within 48 hours. The deaths at this shelter home have also sparked political controversy. Rekha Sharma, Chairperson of the National Commission for Women, conducted an inspection of the shelter home and reported severe conditions. She stated, "The water here is contaminated, and there is no RO system in the kitchen. Of the 14 deaths, 8 were women. The bathrooms are insufficient and very dirty. Around 400 children living in this shelter use these bathrooms." Sharma also pointed out that patients with tuberculosis share the same facilities with other children. She announced that she would write to the central government for an independent investigation into the matter and will also submit her report.
