Delhi Rains: IMD Alert Continues as Heavy Downpour Floods Several Areas | ABP News

In the nation's capital, Delhi, heavy rainfall is expected throughout the day, prompting the India Meteorological Department (IMD) to issue a yellow alert. Following yesterday's downpour, certain areas in the city, particularly South Delhi, were severely affected by waterlogging. By late evening, the roads near Saket Metro Station had transformed into what appeared to be a swimming pool, making travel nearly impossible. Commuters were seen wading through waist-deep water, desperately trying to find a safe path. The situation was particularly dire for two-wheeler riders, who had no option but to push their stranded vehicles through the flooded streets. The lack of proper drainage and the heavy rain overwhelmed the city’s infrastructure, leading to significant disruption of daily life. Many roads in the city experienced heavy traffic jams as vehicles struggled to navigate through waterlogged streets. Public transportation was also hit, with buses and autos facing delays, and pedestrians found it difficult to move around due to water accumulation. The IMD has warned that more rain is likely in the coming hours, urging residents to remain cautious and avoid unnecessary travel. This persistent rainfall has heightened concerns about further disruptions and damage across the city.
