For second straight day, diesel has continued to be more expensive than petrol in the national capital. The cost of diesel was pegged at Rs 80.02/litre on Wednesday morning while petrol was pegged at Rs 79.92/litre in Delhi. While petrol price surged by 16 paise per litre, diesel saw a hike of 14 paise per litre. Due to increase in VAT by Delhi government and excise duty being kept at same level, diesel and petrol prices have become almost equal in the capital.
