Dantewada's garment brand 'DANNEX' turns a life saver for tribal women
In July 2021, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel opened the "DANNEX" Nava Dantewada Garment Factory in Haaram, Dantewada district, which is administered by Bihan women organisations. The garment factory began in Dantewada on the initiative of the district administration, with the goal of reducing poverty by training local women. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been inked with TRIFED, CRPF, and NMDC for the sale of goods created here in order to provide regular work to women in this state-of-the-art facility. The textile factory for this project has been built on 5 acres of land with a Rs 1.92 crore expenditure. Currently, the plant employs roughly 700-750 women.
