BRICS Summit 2024: PM Modi Heads to Russia, Delivers Global Message Before Departure

Prime Minister Narendra Modi departed from India on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, to attend the 16th BRICS Summit in Kazan, Russia. He left India around 7:40 AM and is expected to arrive in Russia by 1 PM. Before departing, PM Modi shared the news on social media platform X, stating, "I am heading to Kazan, Russia, to attend the BRICS Summit. India places great importance on BRICS, and I am excited for extensive discussions on a wide range of topics. I also look forward to meeting various leaders there." PM Modi emphasized that India values the close cooperation within BRICS, which has emerged as an important platform for addressing global developmental agendas, reformed multilateralism, climate change, economic cooperation, and fostering cultural and people-to-people connections. He also noted that the expansion of BRICS with new members last year has furthered its inclusivity and agenda for global good.
