Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni will be playing host to PM Narendra Modi as he travels to the European nation for the annual G7 summit on Thursday, July 13. This will be the first instance of a foreign leader hosting PM Narendra Modi after his record-breaking win in the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections. India has been invited as an outreach country by Meloni in her capacity as the G7 President. This is the 50th G7 summit of top economies of the world and is being held in the luxury resort of Borgo Egnazia in Italy's Fasano city in the Apulia region from June 13 to 15. On the agenda of the summit will be the wars raging in Ukraine and Gaza. The heads of core G7 countries — Joe Biden (USA), Emmanuel Macron (France), Olaf Scholz (Germany), Fumio Kishida (Japan), Rishi Sunak (United Kingdom), Justin Trudeau (Canada), and host Giorgia Meloni — will deliberate on various global matters at the summit. On behalf of the European Commission, which is a permanent participant of G7, President Ursula von der Leyen and Council President Charles Michel will take part in the 50th summit.
