Breaking News: Osama Shahab, Son of Shahabuddin, Joins RJD as Lalu Yadav Welcomes Mother-Son

On Sunday, October 27, Osama Shahab, the son of the late former MP and RJD leader Shahabuddin, officially joined the RJD. Lalu Prasad Yadav and Tejashwi Yadav welcomed him and his mother, Hina Shahab, into the party. RJD's senior leader Abdul Bari Siddiqui was also present at the occasion. The membership was conferred at Rabri residence on Circular Road in Patna. Political activity in Bihar is already intensifying ahead of the 2025 assembly elections, particularly regarding the Muslim vote bank. There were concerns about Muslim voters drifting away from the RJD, prompting the party to integrate Hina and Osama Shahab as a strategic move. It is believed that Tejashwi Yadav aims to retain his core voter base, the MY (Muslim-Yadav) equation. The inclusion of Osama and Hina Shahab is expected to provide the RJD with a political advantage in the Siwan region. RJD workers have welcomed Tejashwi Yadav's decision, expressing optimism that it will enhance the party's grassroots support.
