In the midst of a growing political uproar over the Birbhum deaths, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has announced that she will pay a visit to the district on Thursday. PM Modi expressed his condolences for the tragedy and urged the state administration to respond swiftly. Police had set up barricades close outside Bogtui village, preventing a BJP team led by Suvendu Adhikari, the state assembly's opposition leader, from reaching the site in West Bengal's Birbhum district.
