Bangladesh Protest: 10 Major Updates on the Political Crisis | Sheikh Hasina

The protests against reservations in Bangladesh show no signs of calming down. Seeing the deteriorating situation, Sheikh Hasina has resigned from the Prime Minister's post and left the country on Monday. In the past few days, at least 300 people have reportedly been killed in violent clashes in Bangladesh. Amid the violent protests in Bangladesh, India has advised its citizens to avoid traveling to Bangladesh until further notice. The Ministry of External Affairs has also issued a strict warning to Indian citizens residing in Bangladesh to remain extremely cautious and limit their movements. The situation in Bangladesh has now changed. After a coup, the entire control of the country has been taken over by the army. Army Chief General Waqar-uz-Zaman has announced that an interim government will be established within 48 hours. The army chief has stated that they will bring peace to Bangladesh. In the wake of the coup in the neighboring country, India is closely monitoring the situation. A security alert has been issued on the India-Bangladesh border. On Monday, protestors created havoc in Bangladesh, vandalizing the Prime Minister's residence and setting fire to various locations in Dhaka.
