Another leader succumbed to Covid-19 in West Bengal. BJP leader Gaurishankar Dutta was from Nadia seat.
Voting for the eighth and final phase of the ongoing West Bengal assembly elections commenced at 7am on Thursday at polling booths across 35 assembly constituencies going to the polls in this phase.
Voting is done under the shadow of Covid 19 as West Bengal on Wednesday logged 17,207 fresh COVID-19 cases, the highest-single day spike recorded in the state so far, pushing the tally to 7,93,552, a bulletin issued by the health department said.
