In the Gomti Nagar area of Lucknow, during heavy rain, police have taken action against cases of molestation and misconduct involving a woman and passersby. On Thursday, August 1, police arrested 12 more individuals, bringing the total number of arrests to 16. Earlier, 4 suspects had already been detained. Following the incident, the Gomti Nagar Inspector, the local police station in-charge, and all on-duty personnel were suspended. The incident occurred on July 31 when heavy rain caused flooding in the area, including under the Gandhi Setu underpass. Local youths were involved in throwing water at passing vehicles and pedestrians, causing some to fall. Police have filed a case under several sections of the IPC against 15-20 unidentified youths and have formed five teams to apprehend those involved.
