Govt launches web portal to trace lost mobile phones
The Department of Telecommunications have launched a web portal that will enable blocking and tracing of lost or stolen mobile phones. The initiative was first launched in Mumbai this September and has now been rolled out in Delhi-NCR as well. "Delhi telecom subscribers whose phones get stolen or those who lose their phones can log into the web portal from today. They can go to the portal 'www.Ceir.gov.in' and register their complaint using 15 digits IMEI number, based on which the mobile will be blocked," said Telecom Secretary Anshu Prakash.
