Assam-Mizoram dispute, Punjab & drugs connection; all about it

In wake of the ongoing violence along the Assam-Mizoram border, all vehicles entering Assam will be screened for 'illegal drugs' by Assam policemen at all points of entry on the Assam-Mizoram border. It has been indicated that the violence along the border with Mizoram was due to the recent crackdown on drug trafficking under the leadership of Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
