The self-styled godman Asaram was sentenced to life imprisonment for raping a teenaged minor girl. Asumal Sirumalani Harpalani, known as Asaram Bapu by his followers. He was sentenced to life imprisonment in a 2013 rape case by Jodhpur Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Court.
