The Indian government has bestowed Navratna status upon four companies. The Department of Public Enterprises under the Ministry of Finance has granted this prestigious status to RailTel Corporation of India Limited, National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC), Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI), and Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam Limited (SJVN). This designation is intended to enhance the operational and financial autonomy of these Public Sector Enterprises, also to enable them to make decisions more independently and pursue new opportunities. The Navratna status aims to promote better performance and competitiveness among these companies, contributing to their growth and development in their respective sectors.
