Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Saturday asked the Prime Minister to break his silence on former French President Francois Hollande’s statements that differed with the Indian government’s stand on the Rafale deal. "Former French president calls our PM a thief.. Why is the PM silent on it? He hasn't said a single word, Gandhi told reporters in a media briefing here.
Issuing a fresh rebuttal, the Ministry of Defence on Saturday alleged that "unnecessary controversies are being sought to be created following media reports regarding a statement purportedly made by the former French President, Francois Hollande, concerning the selection of Reliance Defence as the Offset partner by Dassault, the manufacturers of Rafale aircraft."
