On Monday, the first day of Lockdown 3.0 when liquor stores opened in Mumbai massive crowds created chaos and people also forgot to maintain social distancing protocols. The scene caused so much stress for the government that it is now decided only shops selling essential products will remain open in Mumbai while all the rest will be shut. After looking at the current situation, it was decided to revoke the relaxations that were given from May 4. And new guidelines have specified that only shops selling essential items and pharmacies will stay open. The amended guidelines have made it clear that liquor shops and those selling nonessentials will not open in Mumbai.
