Twitter User Shares Details Of Mismanagement At Diljit Dosanjh Delhi Concert: 'It’s Not What You’d Expect...'

Diljit Dosanjh wowed fans in Delhi with two concerts over the weekend. While the singer’s fans enjoyed his performance, many were not happy with the arrangement of the concert. Siddharth, a concertgoer who attended Saturday’s show, took to social media platform X to share his frustration with the event's management, describing the experience as “absolute chaos.”

Siddharth, who paid Rs 15,000 for premium Gold Pit tickets, felt the concert fell short on basic organisation. “Diljit was amazing, but his concert was not,” he wrote, noting that although he was thrilled to finally see the Punjabi singer perform live, the experience was marred by several issues.

Long delays at Diljit Dosanjh Delhi concert

According to Siddharth, the troubles began right from the start. Gates were supposed to open early, but they only opened around 5:30 PM, with the main event not kicking off until 8 PM. To his disappointment, there was no opening act to warm up the audience; instead, attendees were shown repetitive ads from Zomato and Kingfisher on the screens. “Why even make us wait for hours if nothing’s happening?” he questioned.

Unhygienic washrooms

Siddharth pointed out the appalling state of the washrooms, especially those for women, which he described as dark, unclean, and reeking. “It’s not what you’d expect after spending thousands on tickets,” he noted.

The chaos wasn’t limited to just the waiting areas. Siddharth witnessed a serious medical oversight: a woman in the Gold Pit section fainted, and no staff member came to assist her right away. “Eventually, she was taken to the FIRST AID and then to the hospital, but this happened before the concert even started,” he shared, underlining the need for better crowd management and safety measures.

Mismanagement at refreshment counters

For fans looking to grab refreshments, the scene at the food and beverage counters was anything but smooth. Siddharth explained that there were only two counters set up for thousands of fans, resulting in incredibly long waits. “Concert-goers who wanted refreshments had to stand in line thrice—first to buy a card, then to get a slip, and finally for their order,” he recounted, describing the process as "absolute chaos."

To make matters worse, drinks were served in glasses instead of bottles or cans, adding to delays. By 9 PM, a scuffle broke out between the frustrated crowd and the management, forcing the beverage counters to close entirely. “After a while, a fight broke out between the management and the crowd, leading to the beverage counters being shut down. There were no drinks or even water available after 9 PM,” Siddharth wrote.

Limited view even in Gold pit

Another major grievance was the lack of transparency regarding refunds. After the concert, people who had loaded money onto cards for refreshments discovered they couldn’t get their unused balance refunded. “Felt like a total rip-off,” Siddharth remarked.

And despite paying extra for Gold Pit tickets, Siddharth said he struggled to see the performer clearly due to limited visibility. “Overall, Diljit’s performance was great. He's truly a vibe. But the concert experience was poorly organised and definitely not worth the price tag. The management could have been much, much better,” he concluded.
