Who Is Sharmila Faruqui? Pakistan Politician Spotted With Ambanis In Paris

Pakistani politician Sharmila Faruqui met with Indian businessman Mukesh Ambani and his daughter Isha in Paris. Photos of the meeting went viral on social media.

Pakistani politician Sharmila Faruqui seems to be in Europe these days, and is in the news for an interesting meeting she had with an eminent Indian personality. A photograph of her family with businessman Mukesh Ambani, and another of her with Isha Ambani are going viral on social media.

Faruqui shared a selfie with Isha on her Instagram Story, while another image with Mukesh Ambani was shared as an Instagram post by her husband Hashaam Riaz Sheikh. While both families appear to be in the France capital, the two photos seem to have been shot at different places.

Mukesh Ambani can be seen holding his granddaughter in the photo shot at the Disneyland in Paris. According to reports, the Ambanis will be in Paris for the Olympics beginning on July 26, the opening ceremony of which will be live-streamed in India on the JioCinema app and website, and also on Reliance-owned Sports18 1 SD and Sports18 1 HD TV channels.

Who Is Sharmila Faruqui?

A member of Pakistan’s National Assembly with a PhD in Law, Sharmila Faruqui is from a prominent political family in Sindh. She is a member of the Pakistan People’s Party.

Faruqui is married to Hashaam Riaz Sheikh, a former investment banker who is now a media tycoon.
According to a Dawn report, Sheikh’s father Ahmed Riaz Sheikh is a former Director General of the Federal Investigation Authority (FIA).

The report from 2015 said Faruqui and Sheikh got married that year with much fanfare and the couple enthusiastically shared their wedding photos on social media.

They have a son, who can be seen in the viral image with Mukesh Ambani.

Before joining politics, Faruqui had reportedly tried to have a career in showbiz, and even appeared in a TV serial, "Panchwa Mausam".

Her maternal grandfather NM Uqaili is a former finance minister of Pakistan, while father Usman Farooqi was a bureaucrat.

Faruqui studied in Karachi and now stays with her family in Islamabad.

The Photos From France

Faruqui and Sheikh’s Instagram timelines suggest they are currently enjoying their time in France along with their minor son.

While the chance encounter with Mukesh Ambani took place at Disneyland in Paris, the location tag on Faruqui’s selfie with Isha suggested they were at or near a luxury concept store, Hermès (rue de Sèvres), in Paris.

Instagram users in Pakistan, however, are not impressed as they left some unsavoury comments on the posts.
“Ask them for loan, Pakistan needs them,” wrote one user.

Another said: “She knows how to find ultra rich people everywhere.”
