The clip shows a man focused on his laptop and phone during a client meeting while attending a Durga Puja celebrations at a pandal in Bengaluru.

A video of a man holding a laptop and talking over the phone during a meeting while participating in Durga Puja celebrations at a pandal in Bengaluru has gone viral on social media. The internet was not impressed as netizens criticised how the work-life balance has gone for a toss lately.

The video was shared on the X by the 'Karnataka Portfolio' account. It captures the man immersed in work, unaware of the festivities and crowd around him. During the Durga Puja celebration, he can be seen switching between his phone and laptop, engrossed in his office tasks.

"A Peak Bengaluru moment unfolded when a man was caught attending a client meeting on his laptop and phone while at a Navratri pandal in Bengaluru. The incident perfectly encapsulates the city's fast-paced work culture, where balancing professional commitments and personal festivities has become the norm. Despite the celebratory atmosphere of the Navratri festival, this individual seamlessly managed to participate in his work meeting, embodying the spirit of multitasking that is often associated with Bengaluru's tech-savvy professionals. His dedication to work, even amidst the vibrant festivities, highlights the unique blend of tradition and modernity that characterizes the city," the caption of the viral post read.

Here's how the internet reacted:

The video, which has now garnered 96.6k views quickly went viral on social media. Several users raised concerns over the work-life balance, urging that we "stop normalising this behavior as just another ‘peak Bengaluru moment" and "stop glorifying this".

"He is neither dedicated to his work nor his personal life. We don't want to have such a culture. When you shut down your laptop as per your work hours, then that's it. The rest of the time is your personal time," a user commented.

Another user wrote: "This is really depressing. We need to enforce a better work culture in India. Such people shouldn't reach management positions. Otherwise, they will expect such nonsense from others and soon we will see hundreds of laptops on such important occasions."

The video clip posed as an example of how the work pressure in today's modern day and age has intruded into people's lives, impacting their personal and cultural experiences.

"Stop this nonsense the company will not think twice before laying off, so keep separate personal and professional time," the third user commented.

Another individual remarked, “When will Bengaluru learn the importance of switching off?”

"Seems like a toxic work culture that does not permit him to spend some time peacefully with almighty!" another user commented.

However, others also expressed admiration for the man's dedication.  Some found humour in the situation. A commenter quipped: "Durga Puja + Zoom call = Bengaluru magic."
