Suyyash and Gagan's 'Sankatmochan Mahabali Hanuman' co-actor Barkha were among the few who reached on his funeral and they lashed out at the friends of the deceased for not showing up. Barkha said during an interview she gave to Mid-day - ""Why were the others who posted on social media not present there yesterday? They claimed to be his friends, right?"

Gagan's funeral was held on the following day in Mumbai while Arjit's body was taken to Agra for final rites. Actor Suyyash, who is seen here standing near Gagan's dead body on his funeral later told Indianwikimedia - “I did not plan to stay for long but when I saw the condition of Gagan’s mother and my friend’s sister, I just could not move, and stayed on right till the end. The mishap took place at 11:30 am on Saturday morning i.e. August 19th. At around 11.15 am, when the car was on the Chillar Phata, near Hotel Mountain on the highway at Manor, Kang lost control of his vehicle. Gagan went and crashed into the rear end of a stationery trailer parked alongside the road. (August 19) at the Ahmadabad-Mumbai highway.

'Pehredaar Piya Ki' actor was saddened with the absence of Gagan's close friends from the Industry too and he told Indianwikimedia - " Ideally, it would have been better to come down to the funeral to pay your last respects rather than just tweet about it.Sadly though, today social media has become a medium to express our feelings, so I don’t want to say much more as it would be inappropriate."
