The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) is set to operate 4,198 special buses from Hyderabad to different parts of Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and other States for the upcoming Dussehra festival.
The state government has declared Dussehra holidays from October 1 to 9.
TSRTC Rangareddy Regional Manager Sridhar said that the additional buses would operate in Telangana during the festival. He said, all arrangements have been made and the passengers will not face any difficulties.
RTC officials have decided to run Dussehra special buses from September 24 to October 7. If the number of passengers increases, there is a possibility of adding more buses to the fleet. These buses will operate in Miyapur, Kukatpally, Jubilee Bus Station, Secunderabad, Uppal, LB Nagar and Koti areas of Hyderabad.
Earlier,TSRTC announced a bus service from Shilparamam at HITECH City to Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, to ease the commute to the airport. Shilparamam will be the departure point for metro luxury buses every 30 minutes. The bus service will start at 4:30 am and run till 10:30 pm.
According to the statement, daily commuters on the route will receive a 10 percent discount, while groups of three or more would receive a 20 per cent discount.
To ease the celebration rush before and during Dussehra, the Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) will also run 1,081 special buses. They will be operated from September 29 to October 10.
APSRTC announced that the buses would run in Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Rajamahendravaram, Kakinada, Tirupati, Rayalaseema district, Amalapuram, Bhadrachalam and other locations in Andhra Pradesh.
