Sony India on Wednesday launched Sony WH-1000XM5 wireless active noise cancelling (ANC) headphones. The wireless headphones is a successor to 2020's Sony WH-1000XM4 headphones. The Sony WH-1000XM5 has been now made available in India after the global unveiling in May. The new headphones bring new immersive, distraction-free sound experience with noise cancelling technology, according to the company.

The Minato City, Tokyo-headquartered tech major has launched the flagship Sony WH-1000XM5 in India at an introductory price of Rs 26,990, which is much less than the actual price of the headphones. However, this offer price is applicable for prospective buyers who place pre-orders before October 7. The price of the Sony WH-1000XM5 headphones in India has been set at Rs 34,990.


Sony's new flagship headphones would become available for shipping and buying across the country on October 8. It would be available on the e-commerce sites, Sony Center stores and major electronics stores. The Sony WH-1000XM5 has been unveiled in two colours in India: black and silver.

The Sony WH-1000XM5 headphones comes with an Integrated Processor V1 which is claimed to aid in delivering great sound. The Sony WH-1000XM5 come with two processors that can control eight microphones for improved noise cancellation. The ANC headphones also features four beamforming microphones that can help in improving the call quality. In terms of battery life, the Sony WH-1000XM5 comes with a promised playback time of up to 30 hours on a single charge and comes with support for quick charging. Thanks to the multi-point connectivity, the Sony WH-1000XM5 lets users connect up to two devices at a time.


The headphones also promises crystal clear call quality with four beamforming microphones and advanced audio signal processing.

The new Sony WH-1000XM5 headphones compete with the likes of the newly-launched Sennheiser Momentum 4 Wireless headphones, which is also available for Rs 34,990 in India. It also locks horns with the Jabra Evolve2 6 which was unveiled for Rs 35,990.
