Telangana: TSRTC To Operate 2,427 Special Buses For Maha Shivratri Festival
According to TSRTC officials, the buses will transport devotees to 40 Shaiva Kshetras spread across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) will be operating as many as 2,427 special buses from various places in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh on the occasion of the Mahashivratri festival.
The festival of Maha Shivratri 2023 will be observed on February 18. According to an IANS report, the state-owned transport operator announced that the special buses will be operated from February 17 to 19.
According to TSRTC officials, the buses will transport devotees to 40 Shaiva Kshetras spread across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
Reportedly, there will be 578 services to Srisailam, 481 services to Vemulawada, 239 services to Keesaragutta, 497 services to Edupayala, 108 services to Velala, 51 services to Kaleshwaram, 52 services to Komuravelli, 37 services to Kondagattu, 16 services to Alampur, 15 services to Ramappa, and 14 services to Uma Maheshwaram.

TSRTC officials stated that if more services are required for the convenience of devotees, the corporation will provide them. Devotees will be able to travel to Srisailam via special buses from MGBS, JBS, Dilsukhnagar, IS Sadan, KPHB, and BHEL in Hyderabad. Reservation facilities will be available for these bus services.
TSRTC Chairman Bajireddy Govardhan said that the management is taking all measures to ensure that devotees do not face any difficulties on the occasion of Maha Shivratri. "It has been decided to run special buses to the 40 famous Shiva temples across the state," he said as quoted by IANS.
The TSRTC is also providing a 10 percent discount on rented buses. Sajjanar advised devotees to use this rental bus facility.
The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation operated about 4,000 special buses during Sankranti last month. Over 2.8 billion people had earned the privilege. The TSRTC earned more than Rs 165 crore by operating the special services in a span of 11 days.
