Telangana: Three Killed As Bus Collides With Tractor In Wanaparthy District

Three people were killed when a bus rammed into a tractor on the Hyderabad-Bangalore highway in the Wanaparthy district of Telangana early on Monday. The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) Garuda bus was travelling from Hyderabad to Bangalore when it collided with a sugarcane-laden tractor from behind at Mummalapalli in Kottakota mandal.
Two persons died on the spot, while one died of his injuries at the Wanaparthy government hospital. The bus driver, a cleaner, and a passenger were killed, while 15 people were injured, according to authorities.
The deceased were identified as Anjaneyulu, 42, Shivanna, 56 and Sandeep, 35. The injured were undergoing treatment at Wanaparthy hospital.

On Saturday, as many as 43 people including a boy suffered injuries after, a bus carrying Sabarimala pilgrims from Andhra Pradesh met with an accident and overturned near Laha in Kerala's Pathanamthitta district. Among them, the condition of the eight-year-old boy,who was identified as Manikandan, is in critical condition.
The mishap occurred while 44 pilgrims from Vijayawada were returning from the hill shrine, according to authorities. District health officials verified that 43 people were injured in the accident, which occurred after the driver lost control of the car while negotiating a curve on the highway.
All passengers in the bus were rescued within an hour of the accident, and the vehicle was shifted from the accident site by 10 AM, said Health Minister Veena George.
Police, fire service personnel, motor vehicle department officials, and the locals jointly coordinated a swift rescue mission, which reduced the gravity of the accident. Besides George, top officials, including the district collector and district police chief, reached the scene and supervised the rescue operations.
