Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president KT Rama Rao on Thursday slammed exit polls about Telangana Assembly polls by calling it ‘nonsense’ and ‘rubbish’. After exit polls predicted an edge for Congress in Telangana, KT Rama Rao said that BRS would retain power. The election to the 119-member Assembly in Telangana concluded on Thursday following which exit poll results were released.

Addressing reporters after the exit polls, KT Rama Rao said, to come to power for a third consecutive term, BRS will win more than 70 seats in the 119-member Assembly.

Mentioning the exit polls in 2018, he said, of all the predictions only one agency was right. They predicted TRS (now BRS) would win 48-66 seats but it went on to bag 88 seats.

"This tells you what kind of rubbish they publish in the name of exit polls," he said, as per a report on IANS.

The real result would come on December 3 and those who try to confuse Telangana voters would be in for a huge surprise, he said adding that exit polls were not new.

"I promise those who are fans of BRS and want KCR to come back and run the state that we will come back with 70 plus seats. Just wait and watch,” he added, as per the report.

If the exit polls were proved wrong on December 3, he asked if the people would dare to apologise to the people of Telangana.

The counting of votes is set to take place on December 3. Telangana witnesses a three-faced fight between BRS, Congress and BJP.

According to the exit poll data, Congress is set to gain a significant surge with an increase from 19 to 57 seats and a commendable swing of +12.4% in votes. Conversely, the ruling party, BRS, faced a setback with a swing of -8.1%, resulting in a decline from 88 to 46 seats in the ABP C-Voter Survey.
