Telangana: PM Modi To Launch Rs 2,400-Cr Worth Railway Redevelopment Projects In State On Jan 19

PM Modi will also flag off Vande Bharat Express train connecting Secunderabad to Visakhapatnam via Vijayawada

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Hyderabad on January 19 to take part in launching several developmental works at a cost of Rs 2,400 crores at Secunderabad Railway station. Besides modernisation of Secunderabad Railway Station at a cost of Rs 700 crores, doubling work of track between Secunderabad and Mahabubnagar with expenses of Rs 1,231 crore and revamping of Kazipet coach workshop at Rs 521 crores. 

PM Modi will also flag off Vande Bharat Express train connecting Secunderabad to Visakhapatnam via Vijayawada. This will be the second Vande Bharat Express train to be started in South India. The Vande Bharat Express train will take eight hours to travel from Secunderabad to Visakhapatnam while the express trains in the same route take 12-13 hours.

Earlier in June 2022, the South Central Railway floated a tender for the redevelopment of a railway station in Secunderabad. In Hyderabad, Secunderabad is the main railway station and the headquarters of South Central Railways is located at Secunderabad station. 

To check the preparation for the PM's visit, BJP state president, MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar, and OBC Morcha national president, MP K Laxman inspected Secunderabad railway station and held a meeting with South Central Railway officials.

PM Modi last visited Hyderabad on November 12, on a stopover during a visit to Ramagundam to dedicate the people of Telangana the public sector Ramagundam Fertilizer Factory Limited.

The PM's visit is expected to give a further boost to the BJP cadres preparing for the upcoming assembly elections later this year.
