Telangana: Man's Severed Head Found Inside A Temple In Nalgonda
Locals believe the incident was the result of a human sacrifice. The police, on the other hand, are looking at all possibilities.
Hyderabad: A man's severed head was found at the idol's feet at the Mahankali temple in Telangana's Nalgonda district on Monday caused panic in the area.
The incident took place near Viratnagar Colony in Chintapalli Mandal of Nalgonda district. This Viratnagar colony is located near the Nagarjunasagar-Hyderabad Highway.
According to reports, on Monday morning, the priest found the head lying at the feet of a Mahankali deity in the temple and informed the locals and police.
Police under DSP Anand Reddy inspected the spot and initiated an investigation. A photo of the Severed head was posted on social media to identify the deceased.
However, police suspect that this type of murder may have been done for human sacrifice. Human sacrifices have been reported in the past in this region. Criminals who have committed similar crimes in the past are being investigated.
According to Devarakonda DSP (Deputy Superintendent of Police) Anand Reddy, the family came to Nalgonda and identified the victim as 30-year-old Jahender Nayak from Suryapet District Palakaveedu Mandal, Shunya Pahad village.
DSP Anand Reddy stated that the man had left his home four to five years ago and lived in various locations at a temple near Ibrahimpatnam in the Rangareddy district.
He said that eight teams had been appointed to find out the complete details and was collecting footage and other evidence.
