Telangana HC Orders State Govt To Provide Online Classes and Physical Classes Until Feb 20

The court also directed the government to take steps to implement COVID-19 norms during the Sammakka-Sarakka festival

Hyderabad: In light of the present Covid-19 pandemic crisis, the Telangana High Court on Wednesday ordered educational institutions in the state to conduct online lessons along with physical classes. 

The court ordered educational institutions across the state to hold online classes and physical classes for those students who prefer the virtual mode. The court issued the directives while considering petitions related to the state's Covid-19 problem.

The High Court asked the government to tell the court what action was taken against those who violated the corona regulations.

The court also directed the government to take steps to implement Covid-19 norms during the Sammakka-Sarakka jatra. Similarly, during the 'Samatha Murthy Sahasrabdhi' celebrations on the outskirts of Hyderabad, it gave instructions for imposing Covid-19 limitations.

The High Court held that it was the Government's responsibility to take all necessary steps to prevent Covid -19 from prevailing due to negligence. Court ordered to submit a full report within two weeks on the steps taken to reduce the spread. The next hearing on the Covid-19 situation in the state was adjourned to the 20th of this month.

Direct teaching started on February 1 in all types of schools in Telangana. The schools were reopened on the orders of the Department of Education. Education officials have been instructed to enforce corona regulations in schools strictly. 

Earlier, the government has extended the holidays as the third phase of Corona is in full swing. However, schools are supposed to start after the Sankranthi holiday but extend the holidays till January 30.
