Telangana FRO Dies In Attack By Tribals, CM KCR Announces Rs 50 Lakh Ex Gratia
The Chief Minister directed DGP Mahender Reddy to take a legal course of action to ensure the culprits are punished stringently.
Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao expressed shock and sorrow over the death of Forest Range Officer ( FRO) Srinivasa Rao, who was attacked by Gutti Koya tribals in Bhadradri Kothagudem district. CM KCR conveyed his deepest condolences to the bereaved family members and announced an ex gratia of Rs 50 lakh to the family of the deceased FRO.

The Chief Minister instructed the officials to extend full salary to the FRO's family as per the rules and regulations under which the officials on the duty are paid and provide salary to the family members until retirement age. On compassionate grounds, CM KCR ordered the provision of a government job to an eligible family member.
FRO Srinivasa Rao mortal remains to be honoured with full state honour as CM KCR directed Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar to arrange for the same.

CM KCR ordered Forest Minister Allolla Indrakaran Reddy and erstwhile Khammam District Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar to attend the funeral and look after related arrangements closely.
He made it clear that attacks on government employees who are on duty will not be tolerated. Assuring them that the government would stand by the government employees, the chief minister asked them to discharge their duties without fear.
Chalamala Srinivasa Rao, 42, of Chandrugonda Forest Range Officer (FRO) was slain in an attack by tribals claiming ownership of "podu lands".
The Gutti Koya tribe attacked him with sharp-edged weapons at Yerrabodu in the Bendalapadu forest area. The incident occurred when the officer tried to stop them from cutting down plantations taken up by the Forest Department.
