Hyderabad: Telangana CM K Chandrashekar Rao on Monday inaugurated the Swatantra Bharatha Vajrotsavam celebrations. The Telangana government has organised these celebrations on the occasion of completing 75 years of independence of the country.
On this occasion, the CM hoisted the national flag at the HICC in Madhapur at Hyderabad. Later he paid tributes to the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi. Cultural programs are arranged to entertain the viewers at the event. On August 15, the government will distribute 1.2 crore flags to hoist the national flag on every house across the state. The closing ceremony of Swatantra Bharatha Vajrotsavam will be held at the LB Stadium in Hyderabad on August 22.
CM KCR said our country got independence with many sacrifices and struggles. Mahatma Gandhi, the leader of India's independence and the messenger of peace who proposed the doctrine of non-violence to the world, was a universal man. He is an inspiration to many people in the world.

He said Swatantra Bharatha Vajrotsavam celebrations are being organised to inform the new generations about the spirit of India's independence struggle. He told people in old age must educate the young about India's battle for independence.
CM KCR has called upon all the people's representatives to organise the independence celebrations grandly. He said that many individuals had put in a lot of effort for Telangana state to develop in the past eight years.
