Telangana: Boys Stripped, Thrashed For Playing Cards In Hyderabad

Boys Thrashed For Playing Cards: A group of children playing cards were stripped naked and beaten up by local youths at Mangalhat.

Hyderabad: A group of children playing cards were stripped naked and beaten up by local youths at Mangalhat in the city. A complaint has been filed after a video of minors being stripped went viral on social media.

According to Mangalhat ACP R Satish Kumar, the accused have been identified as Rahul, Harikiran and Amol. A case has been registered against them under Sections 324 and 506 of the Juvenile Justice Act, IPC.

According to police, on Tuesday, a group of boys were playing cards near a mound in a remote part of Mangalhat and another group have spotted these boys and wanted to take advantage. They rounded up and stripped the children. The kids were also beaten with plastic pipes and sent away after being threatened with harsh punishment if they were found again.

The mother of one of the boys complained to the police. The police identified the culprits and arrested them. However, there are allegations that local BJP leaders have pressured the police not to take any stern action against those who misbehaved towards minor boys. Sub Inspector Ravi said the investigation was underway.

Police Arrest 16 Persons For Playing Cards

Police arrested 16 people while playing cards at Banjara Hills on Wednesday night. 15 lakh cash was seized from them, and six women were taken into police custody. Bandapalli Satish, a senior BJP leader, was also arrested by the police. Among those caught seems to be business people and politicians in the city.
