Telangana: Amid Heavy Rains, CM KCR Leaves By Road To Inspect Rain-Affected Regions
In view of inclement weather due to incessant rains, CM KCR's aerial survey of flood-affected areas has been cancelled
Hyderabad: On Sunday, Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao began his road tour to inspect flood-ravaged regions in the state. The CM who reached Warangal on Saturday started for Mulugu on Sunday morning. In view of inclement weather due to incessant rains, CM KCR's aerial survey of flood-affected areas has been cancelled. The CM is travelling by road to meet the people who are ravaged by the unprecedented rains.
CM KCR has headed to Bhadrachalam via Mulugu and Eturunagaram. KCR will inspect the flooded Godavari river and review the situation with public representatives and officials. As a major relief to people and the government, the water level of river Godavari at Bhadrachalam has receded. Since yesterday morning the water level has fallen over seven feet. The release of water towards Andhra Pradesh has also reduced.

Before conducting an aerial survey of the Godavari river flood-affected areas, the CM held a review at Hanumakonda with ministers, MPs, high officials, MLCs, MLAs and other public representatives on Saturday night.
In the meeting, CM KCR stated that there is a need to prepare a permanent action plan to protect the people of the catchment area from the floods that occur every year in Godavari river.
While directing the Collectors to provide all kinds of assistance and facilities to the people of the flooded areas, The CM said that the flood capacity of the Kadem project is only 2.95 lakh cusecs, but the Kadem project has received a flood of five lakh cusecs which is unprecedented in history.
Meanwhile, Finance Minister Harish Rao has been directed to release funds to the collectors of Kothagudem, Mulugu, Bhupalapalli, Mahabubabad and Nirmal districts worth Rs 1 crore for emergency relief.
