India Meteorological Department (IMD) has said that moderate to heavy rains to lash both Telugu states, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, due to low pressure in the Bay of Bengal. Regional Meteorological Centers (Hyderabad) have also issued yellow alerts for several districts in Telangana on Tuesday.


A depression formed over the west-central Bay of Bengal, and its associated surface circulation extended up to 5.8 km above sea level near the north coast of Sri Lanka, said IMD.


Telangana Weather Updates


The effect of low pressure over the state will continue for the next three days. The Regional met centre in Hyderabad has issued a yellow alert for some districts with a forecast of heavy rains. The weather department officials said heavy rains will occur in several districts of Telangana till October 15. 


Heavy rains lashed Jayashankar Bhupalapalli, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Rangareddy, Hyderabad, Medchal Malkajgiri, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak, Kamareddy, Mahabubnagar, Nagar Kurnool, Wanaparthy and Jogulamba Gadwal districts on Monday.


A yellow alert has been sounded on Tuesday for Adilabad, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak, Kamareddy, Mahbubnagar, Nagar Kurnool districts of Telangana. Moderate rain is also likely in Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy districts. the met centre in Hyderabad has said there will be isolated spells of rainfall in the capital city.






Andhra Pradesh Weather Updates


The Meteorological Center in Amravati has said that heavy rainfall is likely at isolated places over the Anantapuram and Kurnool districts of Rayalaseema on Tuesday.


The Regional Meteorological Center (Amaravati) said thunderstorms accompanied by lighting likely at isolated places over all the districts of North Coastal Andhra Pradesh, South Coastal Andhra Pradesh, and Rayalaseema and issued a yellow alert.
