New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency on Tuesday conducted multiple searches in various districts across Jammu and Kashmir in a terror funding case, reported news agency ANI. As per the report, the federal probe agency conducted searches in Rajouri, Poonch, Jammu, Srinagar, Pulwama, Budgam, Shopian, and Bandipora districts of Jammu and Kashmir.
The terror funding case relates to “suspicious activities” of Al Huda Education Trust, Rajouri, reported the news agency citing its sources.
The case was registered suo-motu by NIA about the funding pattern and activities of Al Huda Educational Trust, which is functioning as a frontal entity for Jamaat-e-Islami J&K, which was declared as an ‘unlawful association’ under UA(P)A in 2019, as per the news agency.
On Monday, the anti-terror agency conducted searches at two locations in Tamil Nadu in a case related to two self-radicalised Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam supporters planning attacks on commercial establishments and important leaders in the state, an official said on Sunday, reported news agency PTI.
The searches were conducted two districts, Salem and Sivagangai, on Saturday where the agency recovered incriminating materials including digital devices like compact discs related to LTTE, a Sri Lanka-based banned terrorist group, a spokesperson of the National Investigation Agency said, quoted by the news agency.
Books on LTTE, photos of LTTE leaders including its slain chief Prabhakaran, incriminating documents, invoices, bills for materials used for manufacturing illegal firearms, ammunition and explosive substances, seeds for making poison, and jungle survival kits were also seized during the raids, the official said.
