Hyderabad Traffic Police Urges Commuters To Defer Their Travel By An Hour To Let Rainwater Drain
The Hyderabad Meteorological Department has issued a Yellow alert for 13 districts in Telangana.
Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Traffic Police alerted the commuters of possible traffic congestion in the city during peak office hours and urged them to defer their travel by at least an hour to allow rainwater to drain from the roads.
The announcement made by the Hyderabad Trafic Police said, "In view of heavy rain in Hyderabad City and being Peak Traffic Time/ Office Going Hours, there is likelihood of heavy traffic congestions/jams at various places due to water logging. HTP along with GHMC authorities will try to do their best to mitigate the traffic problems."
"However, we request the commuters to defer their travel by at least one hour from the ceasing of heavy rain. This will allow rainwater to drain out through the discharge outlets. As and when the heavy rain ends, please do not be in a hurry to begin your travel. Allow water to drain out as you would otherwise land in serious traffic problems," it added.
