The Commissioner’s Task Force (west) team and the Jubilee Hills police seized Rs 2.49 crore of unaccounted money on Saturday. As a result of a tip, the Task Force team and the Jubilee Hills police apprehended three accused. The accused were identified as Sudhir Kumar Ishwarlal Patel, Ashok Singh and Botchu Ram, who lived in Begum Bazaar on Jubilee Hills Road No 75. Police found cash worth Rs 2.49 crore in a bag.


"On questioning, the duo told us that they work for Lalith, a hawala operator from Begum Bazaar and on his instructions they came to Jubilee Hills and took the money from Botchu Ram, manager at Boyance Infrastructure, Bengaluru,” ACP Banjara Hills, M Sudharshan said as quoted by Telangana Today.


Ram admitted to the police that he had supplied the money at the request of Pola Satyanarayana, currently residing in Delhi. Ram had acquired the funds at Jubilee Hills Road 75 Filmnagar from an unidentified source, police said.

The ACP stated that the money was seized, and a case was filed.


According to the ABP Desam report, earlier, Hyderabad’s Chandrayangutta police arrested four people and seized Rs 79 lakh hawala money from them. Police made the arrests after observing individuals exchanging bags in suspicious circumstances. Imran Malik and Salman Malik from Uttar Pradesh, Venkat Reddy and Shekhar from Hyderabad were detained. A case has been registered against them, and an investigation is underway, police said.
