Hyderabad: French Woman ’Murdered By Adopted Daughter, Partner & Friend’, All 3 Arrested

During the inquiry, the police suspected the role of Marie’s adopted daughter Roma, an Indian national, on the basis of a bank transaction on the day the former went missing.

Chennai: A 68-year-old French woman, who was missing in Telangana for the past three days, was allegedly found murdered and dumped near Himayatsagar reservoir on Sunday. A lookout for the woman by Hyderabad police based on the complaint found that she was murdered and robbed by her adopted daughter, partner, and friend and was dumped in the bushes of a reservoir.

According to a report in Indian Express, Marie Christine, the 68-year-old woman, came to India 30 years ago and settled in Dargah Khaliz Khan, Rajendranagar, and was running a school Marica High Schools at Tolichowki and Dargah Khaliz Khan Village for the underprivileged. She has two daughters of her own and two other adopted daughters.

In this backdrop, she went missing on Wednesday night, and based on the complaint of one of her daughters the police registered a case and started the search on Thursday. During the inquiry, the police suspected her adopted daughter Roma since there was a transaction to her account from Marie's account on the day she went missing. Following this, Roma confessed that she committed the murder with the help of her partner and friend and dumped the body.

In the confession, Roma told police Marie registered Roma on a marriage alliance website. However, she grew close with one Vikram and both of them moved together and started living in a rented house in Kondapur, said a report on Indian Today.

However, Marie did not support the relationship and therefore Roma decided to plot against her. She made a plan with Vikaram and her friend Rahul and as per the plan Roma visited Marie on the day of the murder. Marie then dropped Roma at her school while the two others waited for Marie at home. Later, when Marie arrived the two of them strangled her to death and threw the body in the bushes near Himayatsagar reservoir. The accused then came back to Marie's home and stole all her belongings and transferred Rs 2 lakh to Roma's account. Hence, based on the transactions and call recordings the accused was arrested by the police, said the DCP.
