BRS Public Meeting Highlights: Telangana CM Announces Rs 10 Lakh For Development Of 589 Gram Panchayats In Khammam
The meeting assumes political significance as it is the first public meeting after the TRS decided to go national as leaders of different opposition parties would be seen together
For the development of the Khammam district, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao announced Rs 10 lakhs to each of the 589 Gram Panchayats.
The eye-screening programme, Kanti Velugu, which was launched by Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao on Wednesday, is one of the best events, said Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann. He further said that he would launch the programme in Punjab also.
BJP accepted that only 400 days are left for them in power now. Those who start counting their days, can't remain in power. Now, only 399 days are remaining, said Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav at BRS public meeting.
Today, we have a situation- a political formation that wasn't a part of our national freedom struggle is in power in the country. Followers of those who tendered unconditional apologies to colonisers and promised to serve the imperial crown are at the helm of affairs today. Efforts are on to portray Hindi as the national language while sidelining all our native languages. Imposing Hindi by doing away with our mother tongues will affect the integrity of the nation, said Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan.

Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Wednesday had breakfast meeting with chief ministers of three states and leaders of various political parties who will be attending Bharat Rashtra Samithi's inaugural meeting at Khammam later in the day.

Telangana Chief Ministers KCR along with three CMs and top leaders flew to Khammam from Yadagiri Gutta in two helicopters.
Over 1,000 police personnel were deployed for the mega BRS public meeting. The police from three Commissionerates Khammam, Warangal and Karimnagar — have been mobilised.

Background
The ruling Bharat Rashtra Samiti's first public meeting in Telangana would be held on Wednesday in Khammam town in Telangana and leaders like Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan and Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav are set to take part in it. Other leaders including Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann and CPI General Secretary D Raja would attend the BRS meet.
Chief Ministers, national leaders and farmers' representatives of many states have already reached Hyderabad for the BRS (Bharat Rashtra Samithi) party formation meeting to be held in Khammam. They all reached Pragati Bhavan at 9.45 AM on Wednesday morning as per the invitation of the CM.
On this occasion, CM KCR organised a breakfast dinner for the national leaders. The CM left Pragati Bhavan to visit Yadagiri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy after picking them up. The mega BRS meeting is scheduled to commence at 2 PM in Khammam.

BRS president and Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and the visiting leaders would offer prayers at Lord Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple at Yadadri near Hyderabad which has been renovated on a grand scale by the KCR government, before proceeding to Khammam.
At Khammam, about 200 km from Hyderabad, they would attend the launch of the second phase of 'Kanti Velugu', the Telangana government's eye screening programme.
Speaking after hoisting the pink colour flag of BRS after the Election Commission approved the name change of TRS as BRS in December, 2022, KCR, exuded confidence that the "pink flag would fly high on the Red Fort one day." Addressing his party leaders then, he gave the slogan of 'Ab ki baar kisan sarkar' (farmers' government this time) and said new economic, environment, water, electricity and women empowerment policies are needed in the country.
