Hyderabad couple suicide news: A couple reportedly took their own lives after allegedly killing their two children due to suspected financial distress in Hyderabad. The bodies of Chandrasekhar Reddy (44), his wife Kavitha (35), their daughter Shrita Reddy (15), and son Vishwan Reddy (10) were discovered at their residence in Ravindra Nagar Colony, Habsiguda, under Osmania University Police Station limits on Monday night.

The police were alerted when a distress call was made to the police emergency helpline.

Preliminary Investigation 

Upon arriving at the scene, officers found the children lifeless on a bed while the couple was found dead in different rooms. Preliminary investigations suggest that the parents strangled their children before dying by suicide, as per a report on IANS.

The police said that Chandrasekhar had been struggling with unemployment for several months, leading to severe financial hardships. The family had relocated to Hyderabad from Kalwakurthy in Mahabubnagar district about a year ago. Though Chandrasekhar had briefly worked as a junior lecturer in a private college, he had been jobless for the past six months, placing an immense strain on their household, reported ETV Bharat.

Suicide Note 

A suicide note, written in Telugu and recovered from the scene, shed light on the father’s distress. Chandrasekhar reportedly wrote that nobody else was responsible for their deaths and detailed his prolonged health issues, including diabetes, nerve problems, and kidney ailments. He also expressed despair over his professional struggles, stating that he saw no way out of the crisis.

The polices have registered a case and are conducting an in-depth investigation to confirm the exact sequence of events. The bodies have been moved to Gandhi Hospital for autopsy, and forensic experts are examining additional evidence from the house.

Circle Inspector N. Rajender confirmed to IANS that police are looking into multiple aspects, including possible debts, employment history, and social pressures that may have led to the extreme step.
