Google's Valentine's Day celebration took a scientific turn this year with a unique doodle that encouraged users to explore chemistry and discover their own chemical element avatar. In a fun minigame that would make even Walter White blush, upon interacting with Wednesday's doodle, users are directed to a new page titled Chemistry CuPd, offering options to embark on a quiz to unveil their chemical element counterpart or to select an element from a provided list.

How Does The Latest Google Doodle Work?

Following a series of questions, users can uncover their personalized personality element and then engage in bonding with other elements such as hydrogen, sodium, nitrogen, and more, akin to the concept of online dating.

Upon swiping left on a selected element, a bond is initiated, prompting the player to further explore combinations.

With a total of 18 elements to bond with, each possessing distinctive personality traits, users are presented with bios akin to those found on dating apps, facilitating informed decision-making about potential bonds.

Google's explanation about the interactive doodle elaborates on the significance of forming diatomic bonds on Valentine's Day, highlighting the molecular bonding process between two atoms, whether of the same element, like hydrogen gas (H2), or different elements, as in the case of hydrogen chloride (HCl).

An excerpt from Google's blog encapsulates the essence of the doodle's theme, emphasizing the chemistry behind love and celebrating Valentine's Day with a scientific twist. Here's what the Search giant said:

"Are you made of beryllium, gold, and titanium? Because you’re BeAuTi-ful! Today’s interactive game Doodle celebrates Valentine’s Day with a scientific spin — it’s all about the chemistry. Love is in the O2, so let’s play some Chemistry CuPd! Choose an avatar from the periodic table or take a quiz to get matched to the one that best fits your personality. Then it’s time to start swiping through profiles of various elements to make bonds! Each element is very different so be sure to read their profiles so you know when to swipe right. There’s no stronger bond than love, especially when the chemistry is just right. Happy Valentine’s Day!"

Google also shared some early concept art for its latest Doodle, and then went on to credit the artists, designers, engineers, and producers behind the creation.
