Twitter Co-Tweet Feature: Twitter Testing This Feature With Some Users

Twitter is testing a co-tweet feature, according to social media consultant Matt Navarra and mobile developer Alessandro Paluzzi.

Seems like collaboration tweets are coming soon to Twitter, as the micro-blogging site is testing a co-tweet feature, according to social media consultant Matt Navarra and mobile developer Alessandro Paluzzi. Earlier in April, Twitter had confirmed it was exploring a new feature where two accounts would be able to co-author a single tweet, similar to what we have seen Meta-owned Instagram doing since 2021.

In a co-authored tweet Navarra and Paluzzi tweeted: "👥 Testing 👀."

"ℹ️ This feature is not officially available yet, I was just playing with it, thank you Matt for participating 😁," Paluzzi added.

Meanwhile, Twitter Spokesperson Joseph J. Nuñez was quoted as saying in a statement by The Verge: “We’re continuing to explore new ways for people to collaborate on Twitter."

“We’re testing CoTweets for a limited time to learn how people and brands may use this feature to grow and reach new audiences, and strengthen their collaborations with other accounts.”

It should be noted that co-tweet feature is currently being tested with a handful of users for a limited period of time. Several Twitter users are said to be testing this feature, and the experience allows the main tweet author to invite someone else to be tagged in the tweet and discuss the contents over DM.

The second account needs to approve the co-authored tweet, and the resulting tweet shows it is co-authored by two people, but replies appear to only be directed toward the main author of the tweet, it added.
