Rajasthan Free Mobile Yojana 2023: Indira Gandhi Smart Phone Scheme For Women Commences Today. Know How To Be Eligible
The endeavour will extend smartphones to a total of 1 crore 40 thousand women across the state. However, the initial phase will see the distribution of free smartphones to 40 thousand women.
Rajasthan is set to witness the commencement of the Indira Gandhi Smart Phone Scheme today, aimed at empowering the women of Chiranjeevi families through the distribution of smartphones. Last year, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot announced the provision of free smartphones, and after a wait of one and a half years, the government's initiative is now coming into effect. This ambitious endeavour will extend smartphones to a total of 1 crore 40 thousand women across the state. However, the initial phase will see the distribution of free smartphones to 40 thousand women.
A carefully phased approach is being taken in the rollout of this scheme. In the first phase, eligibility criteria encompass single women, widowed women from Chiranjeevi families, girl students in grades 9-12 studying in government schools, and those pursuing education in government ITIs and polytechnics, along with Sanskrit colleges. Additionally, women who head families and have successfully completed 100 working days under MNREGA (Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act) and 50 working days within the Indira Gandhi Urban Employment Scheme will also qualify for the smartphones.
The initial step for eligible women to acquire smartphones involves registration. District administrations are organising camps in every block to facilitate this process. Eligible women attending these camps must bring essential documents such as Aadhar card, Janadhar card, PAN card, and their registered mobile number. Higher education students are required to present their valid I-cards. Comprehensive information regarding smartphone distribution under the scheme can be accessed via the public information portal and the toll-free number 181. Eligibility verification can also be conducted through the public information portal and E-Mitra Plus machines.
The smartphone acquisition procedure entails several stages:
- e-KYC and Janadhar e-Wallet Setup: Eligible women will undergo e-KYC on the IGSY portal during the camp. Subsequently, the Janadhar e-wallet application will be installed on their smartphones.
- Verification: Details of the eligible women will be authenticated through the Janadhar number on the portal.
- Form Submission: Beneficiaries' PAN card details will be entered into the IGSY portal, and three types of forms will be generated and handed to them.
- Mobile Service Provider Selection: At the mobile service provider counter, beneficiaries will choose their SIM card and data plan.
- Smartphone Selection: Next, they will visit the mobile company's counter to select a mobile phone based on their preference.
- Documentation and E-Wallet Transfer: The filled forms will be submitted at the final counter, where documents will be scanned, entered, and uploaded to the IGSY portal. Subsequently, 6800 rupees will be transferred to the beneficiary's e-wallet for purchasing the smartphone and SIM card.
With the implementation of this comprehensive process, the Indira Gandhi Smart Phone Scheme aims to bridge the digital divide and empower women with enhanced connectivity and access to information and services.
