The new ransomware, which took down Indian banks, is a highly-sophisticated variant of RansomEXX, is notorious for attacking high-profile organisations globally.

The cybersecurity incident that that crippled around 300 Indian banks late on Wednesday, July 31, was a result of a ransomware attack on a key technology service provider for small banks named C-Edge Technologies. The ransomware has been identified as a new, highly sophisticated variant of RansomEXX, ABP Live has learnt.
