Sony Releases PS5 Pro But It Won't Be Launched In India Anytime Soon, Here's Why

Sony said, “PS5 Pro will not be available in some countries (which presently includes India) where the 6GHz wireless band used in IEEE 802.11be (Wi-Fi 7) has not yet been allowed.”

Sony India has revealed that the eagerly awaited PlayStation 5 Pro, featuring next-generation hardware upgrades and support for Wi-Fi 7 (IEEE 802.11be), will not be launching in India and other regions where the 6GHz band required for Wi-Fi 7 has not received regulatory approval. Sony in an official statement said, “PS5 Pro will not be available in some countries (which presently includes India) where the 6GHz wireless band used in IEEE 802.11be (Wi-Fi 7) has not yet been allowed.”

The regulatory restrictions present a major disappointment for Indian gamers eager to explore the newest features of Sony’s console lineup. The PS5 Pro, engineered for superior graphics and immersive gameplay, depends on the advanced connectivity of Wi-Fi 7 to maximize its performance.
