Samsung Galaxy S23 Series Launching In First Week of February, Company Confirms
The Galaxy S23 series are expected to be all Snapdragon 8 Gen 2-powered. Xiaomi 13 lineup is set to be unveiled this week with Qualcomm’s top-tier Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 mobile SoC.
Samsung Galaxy S23 series is the much-awaited flagship lineup from Samsung and it is being said that the tech giant will host its first Unpacked event of 2023 in the first week of February where it will officially unveil the Galaxy S23 lineup. The Galaxy Unpacked event will be the first in-person event since the coronavirus pandemic and it may take place in San Francisco, the media has reported.
Samsung is likely to officially unveil the Galaxy S23 series at its first Unpacked event in the first week of February, says a report by GSMArena that cited a Korean publication which quoted a Samsung executive with knowledge of the matter. The Galaxy S23 series will be then launched globally later in February after the official reveal at Unpacked.
It should be noted that some leaks and rumours have pointed to a Galaxy announcement at CES 2023 in January, but since it has that has never been Samsung's usual venue for the unveiling of the Galaxy S series, thus, indicating that the Galaxy S23 series may not be unveiled that CES 2023. It should also be noted that the Samsung Galaxy S23 series are expected to be all Snapdragon 8 Gen 2-powered, dropping Samsung's proprietary Exynos chipset completely.
The Xiaomi 13 flagship lineup is set to be unveiled this week with Qualcomm’s top-tier Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 mobile SoC. Vivo has already launched its X90 Pro+ with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset.
Samsung Galaxy S23 series expected specs and features
The Galaxy S23 lineup will borrow a feature from Apple iPhone 14 and also upgrade its fingerprint sensor. According to a recent report by tech publication ETNews, the Galaxy S23 series is likely to feature the satellite connectivity that we have seen in this year's iPhone 14 lineup. The South Korean tech giant has joined hands with partner Iridium Communications to bring some sort of satellite communication system to the Galaxy S23 line, the report added.
Iridium Communications is into providing voice calling and data communication services through 66 low-orbit satellites. Samsung has been working with Iridium for close to two years to bring the satellite connectivity feature to its smartphones.
A key highlight of the Galaxy S23 lineup will be the Galaxy S23 Ultra which is likely to launch with a 200MP primary camera, some leaks and rumours have suggested. The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra's 200MP camera may be better than the 200MP camera found in Xiaomi 12T Pro, for example. According to famed leakster Ice Universe, the 200MP camera in the Galaxy S23 may be the "best the world has ever seen".
