Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6, Galaxy Z Flip 6 Design Leaked: This Is How The Upcoming Foldables May Look Like

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6, Galaxy Z Flip 6 is expected to break cover at the Galaxy Unpacked event in July.

Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event in early July is anticipated to unveil the highly awaited Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6. Ahead of the official reveal, a recent leak has shed light on the foldable flagship's design and Samsung's strategy to bolster support for its foldable devices. The revelation regarding the new design cues of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 originates from an unexpected source: Samsung itself, as reported by Forbes.

How Did Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6, Galaxy Z Flip 6 Images Leak?

Although briefly accessible online, a series of marketing images showcasing the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 surfaced on Samsung's website in Kazakhstan. Notably, the images reveal a shift towards a boxier design with tighter corners for both the Fold and the Flip. However, details regarding the cover screen of the Fold 6 and its expanded width remain concealed.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6, Galaxy Z Flip 6: New Changes

The marketing visuals bear a resemblance to those of the Galaxy S24 lineup, suggesting a deliberate move by Samsung to align its foldable phones more closely with its mainstream Galaxy smartphones. This move aims to normalise the concept of foldable devices for a wider audience, with the inclusion of the Galaxy AI brand further emphasising this integration.

Beyond aesthetic updates, Samsung appears to be addressing concerns regarding repair costs for foldable screens. The company has announced a restructuring of the pricing model for repairing foldable screens on the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5. This restructuring allows consumers the option to replace damaged components individually, potentially leading to a reduction in repair costs by up to 36 per cent.

In addition to the pricing overhaul, Samsung has expanded its repair centre network in South Korea from 13 to 32 locations. While this initiative is currently limited to South Korea, it signals a proactive approach by Samsung to mitigate global concerns regarding the fragility of foldable screens and the associated high repair costs.

Leaked images of a non-functional dummy Galaxy Z Fold 6 have also surfaced online. These dummy units are typically distributed to peripheral manufacturers for compatibility testing of accessories such as cases and holders. Post-launch, these units are often utilised as point-of-sale devices in retail settings.

The design of the dummy unit reflects Samsung's evolutionary approach to the Galaxy Z Fold series. Notable changes include squared-off corners for a more boxy appearance and an expanded width for the cover screen, enhancing usability when the device is closed.

Samsung is slated to unveil the Galaxy Z Fold 6 alongside the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Galaxy Ring on July 10th during the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event. With anticipation building, consumers eagerly await further details regarding Samsung's latest foldable offerings and its efforts to redefine the smartphone landscape.
